Medication Aide (MAC)

Medication Aide (MAC)

ESCC’s Medication Aide (MAC) training program can be completed in a matter of weeks and prepares students to administer routine medications to patients in nursing facilities, assisted living environments, correctional institutions and more. The career path is similar to that of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program, giving students the opportunity to work under licensed nurses who can train you to move up even further in your career goals! Following the successful completion of training, candidates for certification apply to the Alabama Board of Nursing to be certified through the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

The MAC program at ESCC includes four weeks of classroom study and one week of hands-on clinicals, which take place during the fifth week of the program and run from 6:30AM-3PM at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Clinic. Classes meet three nights per week between the days of Monday & Thursday (unless otherwise indicated). Actual class days will depend on the section in which you enroll. All evening classes are from 4-9:15PM at Enterprise State’s main campus located at 600 Plaza Drive in Enterprise. The cost of the course is $1150.

60 hours of classroom training and 40 hours of clinical training for a total of 100 hours. Successful completion of the course qualifies candidates to take the Medication Assistant Certification Exam.
