Academic Dual Enrollment Courses
Participating in academic classes through dual enrollment is an excellent opportunity to fulfill high school graduation requirements while simultaneously gaining a head start on your college degree. Students planning to transfer to a four-year college or university in Alabama are encouraged to explore the Alabama Transfers resource to identify courses relevant to their chosen major. By completing the Alabama Transfers Guide, students can receive tailored guidance for a smooth transfer process.
Please note that placement in English, Math, and specific Science courses at ESCC is based on your ACT or Accuplacer test scores. To discuss your placement based on your ACT results, please consult your high school counselor. For additional information about Accuplacer testing, feel free to email advising@escc.edu.

Technical Dual Enrollment Programs
Career tech programs allow students to explore different career paths and develop practical skills relevant to the workforce.
Career tech classes prepare students for either immediate entry into the workforce or further education in their chosen field.
Accelerated High School Credit
If a course you wish to take is not required for high school graduation, you can take the course as an Accelerated High School Credit student. Credits earned as an accelerated credit student will not count toward high school graduation requirements and will not appear on your high school transcript. Students in the Accelerated Credit Program are responsible for covering tuition, fees and book rentals.
Eligibility Requirements
- 3.0 or higher cumulative unweighted high school GPA
- Completion of the 10th grade
- Complete an online application on our website
- A signed Statement of Eligibility by a school counselor
