Student Pregnancy Accommodations

Student Pregnancy Accommodations

Title IX pregnancy accommodations are based on medical necessity. Medically necessary leave is the amount of time your healthcare provider determines is necessary for you in regard to your pregnancy, childbirth, lactation or any associated medical conditions or recovery. Title IX pregnancy accommodations are typically only granted for the duration of your medically necessary leave.

The Title IX Office can notify your professors with a Letter Of Support saying that you should be allowed a reasonable amount of time to complete or make-up any assignments, tests, or quizzes that you missed due to pregnancy or related conditions or while on medically necessary leave due to pregnancy, related medical conditions, and recovery.

Please note:

Students in certain programs of study may be required to submit a medical release form/certification of physical ability form to your school before you can return. Check with your program coordinator.

Discuss with your instructor which option you choose. Discuss a plan to make up missed assignments. Communicate with your instructors, program coordinator and/or advisor to keep them updated. If you need assistance do not hesitate to contact the Title IX office.
