ESCC names new cross country, women’s flag football coaches

April 20, 2026 | ESCC

On Monday, April 20, ESCC announced Vince Hogue as the College’s new cross country coach and Janasky Fleming as the college’s first-ever women’s flag football coach.

These additions reflect ESCC’s continued commitment to expanding athletic opportunities while fostering a strong culture of student success both on and off the field.

Hogue brings decades of experience in track and field and cross country, with a coaching career that dates back to the 1990s. Having previously worked with ESCC student-athletes in a performance training role, he is already familiar with the program and its potential. His passion for training and athlete development, combined with his long-standing experience, positions him to build on the foundation already in place and guide the team forward.

Fleming will lead ESCC’s inaugural women’s flag football program—an exciting new offering for the college and a first for the Wiregrass region at the collegiate level. With a strong emphasis on culture, relationships, and competitive excellence, Fleming steps into the role eager to build a program that attracts dedicated student-athletes and competes at a high level. His enthusiasm for mentoring young women and creating a positive, team-driven environment underscores the vision for this new program.

ESCC President Daniel Long welcomed both coaches, highlighting their experience and shared focus on developing student-athletes. He emphasized that their leadership will enhance opportunities for students to succeed academically and athletically, while also noting the significance of introducing women’s flag football to the college and the surrounding community.

With the addition of Hogue and Fleming, ESCC continues to invest in the future of its athletic programs—creating new pathways for student-athletes and strengthening its presence across the region.
