Waller to represent ESCC in state pageant
May 15, 2026 | ESCC
Enterprise State Community College will once again be represented in the Miss Camellia State Teen Volunteer pageant this summer.
This year, Lainie Waller will represent ESCC in the pageant in place of 2025-26 Miss ESCC Scarlett Gates.
“Lainie will represent ESCC at the Miss Camellia State Volunteer pageant this July, and I couldn’t be more excited for her,” Gates said. “She brings so much spirit, confidence, and heart, and I know she’s going to shine on stage. I’ll be cheering her on every step of the way can’t wait to see all she accomplishes.”
Gates will still serve the College as Miss ESCC, while Waller will only hold the title during this summer’s pageant.
“I want to represent ESCC because I love it here,” Waller said. “ESCC has brought me a lot of opportunities in the past year.”
Waller, who was named first runner up in the 2025-26 Miss ESCC pageant, just completed her freshman year at Enterprise State. She was an active participant in the Fine Arts Department, participating in the ESCC Entertainers, where she served as dance captain, and Concert and Community Choir. After ESCC, she plans to transfer to continue pursuing her degree in Music Education.
Miss Camellia State Teen Volunteer is a title awarded as part of the Miss Alabama Volunteer Scholarship Pageant, which is a statewide, service-oriented program that seeks to empower young women through education and opportunities.
According to the pageant’s website, the goal of the Miss Alabama Volunteer Pageant is “to also be vital to the education of the young women in our state through awarding cash and in-kind scholarship to contestants who compete” in the pageant.
In addition to the Miss Camellia State Teen Volunteer Pageant, participants will also be competing for the Miss Alabama Volunteer, Miss Alabama Teen Volunteer, and the Miss Camellia State Volunteer titles.
The Miss Alabama Volunteer 2027 Pageant, including the Miss Camellia State Teen Volunteer Pageant, will be held July 22-25 at the Oxford Performing Arts Center in Oxford, AL.
