60 Years at ESCC: Then, Now, and Looking to the Future
November 5, 2025 | ESCC
On September 30, 2025, Enterprise State Community College marked our 60th year of serving our community. From our first classes in downtown spaces to the vibrant campus we have today, ESCC has always focused on helping students and the community succeed.
Then: Over the years, ESCC has been part of countless stories of growth and innovation. The nationally recognized women’s program and women’s center supported generations of learners, while hosting the regional police academy brought professional training to our area. Our first public television classes were an early example of offering education in new formats, and the wellness center gave the community a space to focus on health. Athletics built pride and connection, with teams achieving success locally and at the state level. Throughout it all, the College found creative ways to meet the changing needs of students and the community.
Now: Today, ESCC continues to innovate to meet workforce and educational needs. Programs like Mechatronics train students for careers in manufacturing, while our Nursing program helps address the growing demand for healthcare professionals. Fully online programs give students the flexibility to learn from home while balancing work and family. Recent milestones include groundbreaking for new facilities—the first in over 30 years—and being named the site for the state’s apiary testing lab, reflecting our ongoing commitment to serving the community through forward-thinking initiatives.
Looking to the Future: ESCC will continue opening doors for learners of all ages. Our soon-to-open Workforce Technology Center will train the next generation of workers, and we’re creating innovative pathways for students to start and complete their career training earlier. Our mission is simple: provide high-quality education, create opportunities, and help students succeed in a rapidly changing world.
These achievements are just part of the story of a college built for the community, by the community, and always looking for new ways to make a difference. For 60 years, ESCC has opened doors and had a real impact on the lives of students and residents alike.
To everyone who has walked our halls, studied in our classrooms, cheered on our teams, or supported our work: thank you. Together, we celebrate the legacy of Enterprise State Community College and embrace the possibilities of the future.
Sincerely,
Daniel Long
President, Enterprise State Community College
