• Create an account (FSA ID) through the Federal Student Aid website.
• All individuals who enter information on a student’s FAFSA (i.e. contributors), including parents or a spouse, must have their own studentaid.gov account (FSA ID) with a different email address.
• Be sure that your name on the FAFSA exactly matches the name on your Social Security card.

1. Complete the FAFSA at studentaid.gov. Click: FAFSA Form > Complete the FAFSA form.
   • Submit the 2023-2024 FAFSA for Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024.
   • Submit the 2024-2025 FAFSA for Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025.
2. Enter ESCC’s federal school code (001015) on the FAFSA.
3. Be sure that your name on the FAFSA exactly matches the name on your Social Security card.
4. Contact the Financial Aid Office via email at financialaid@escc.edu or 334-347-2623 ext. 2214 if you need assistance.
5. Remember to submit the FAFSA to reapply for financial aid each academic year.

• Within 5-7 days after you submit the FAFSA, you will receive an email from the U.S. Department of Education with instructions on how to access your Student Aid Report (SAR) online. Carefully review it to ensure it is correct and complete.
• Read the comments on your SAR and verify that your FAFSA was not rejected. Also make sure that ESCC’s school code (001015) was listed.
• You may correct any mistakes at https://studentaid.gov.

• Verify if additional information has been requested by logging into your MyESCC account and frequently checking your financial aid status: Student> Student Landing Page> Financial Aid Dashboard> Complete any unsatisfied requirements
• Contact the Financial Aid Office at financialaid@escc.edu if you need assistance or visit our Financial Aid website for additional information.

• You can review the type(s) and amount(s) of financial aid you were offered by logging into your MyESCC account and going to: Student > Student Landing Page > Financial Aid Dashboard > Award Offer. 
• You can accept, decline, or reduce your student loan(s) offer. If you are eligible for Pell grant funding, those funds are automatically accepted and applied to your balance.
• If you decide to borrow a student loan, you MUST complete a Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling at https://studentaid.gov.
• Read and complete Terms and Conditions. This should automatically populate for you to review once you submit your award offer.
• Also complete the Title IV Authorization which will be listed under your Financial Aid Dashboard as “Questions from the Financial Aid Office” in red. It is recommended to authorize this so that you can use your financial aid towards your tuition balance and to purchase books.
