Segregation: A Firsthand Account of Enterprise, Alabama
As the adage goes, those who do not understand their past are doomed to repeat it. It is valuable, therefore, to come together to reflect upon our past. Ms. Vernetta Deramus, a veteran educator, shares her experiences as a citizen and teacher of Enterprise, Alabama, during and after segregation. In these turbulent times, it is important to meet and discuss civilly those things that both unite and divide us “to form a more perfect union.” Reception to follow. Hosted by the Diversity and Lyceum Committees.
